MyOReGO ODOT Oregon Road Usage Charge

My OReGO | Oregon Road Usage Charge

The Oregon legislature formed a Road User Fee Task Force in 2001 to explore new ways of funding maintenance needs and improvements to the state’s transportation system.

After reviewing funding alternatives, the task force tested Oregon’s first road usage charge pilot program in 2007. The pilot used a pay-at-the-pump model run by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

ODOT ran a second pilot in 2012, with 88 participants from Oregon, Washington and Nevada. The second pilot included new features requested by volunteers in the previous pilot, including additional security protections and additional mileage reporting options.

On July 1, 2015, ODOT launched OReGO, seeking 5,000 volunteers for the nation’s first statewide RUC program. Participants are charged 1.5 cents for each mile they drive and receive a rebate on gas taxes paid at the pump.
